Just throwing together some drum loops and random samples to start with, then some muted trumpet - man I loves me some muted trumpet! Wheee!

week two

I built the drums from a couple of loops and samples, then played some synth strings and 12-string guitar on top. The guitar part is not quite right but it will work for now.

week three

Here's another techno-funk snippet. I threw bits and pieces of drum loops together, and I heard this C-Minor piano thing on top. The piano didn't quite come out the way I was hoping but oh well. A teenie bass line, some roto-organ and synthy sounds round it out.

Overall I'm not really as happy about this one. I've been working madly on it but can't get it to sound more interesting. But sometimes you have to just put it out there and let it go - so here it is, imperfect as it may be.

I think next week, I'm going to try something completely different. The techno-funk and electrnica thing is definitely fun, but I can see where it could get tiresome.

I made some weird noises and drones, threw together some beats and loops, and had what sounded like the basis of an obnoxious new dance track. But I thought what it really needed was some Pretentious Spanish Guitar (tm), so I enlisted the aid of the ever-talented Jeff Riley to record it. Here you get a taste of where the longer song will be going... Hope you enjoy.
